Charles W. (Sandy) Rex III, MAI, established RMI Midwest in 1991 after serving as president of Rex-McGill, Inc., the oldest real estate valuation company in Orlando. Since coming to the Chicagoland area, Sandy’s work has focused on transportation corridors in both urban and rural areas, while still including the valuation of large, multi-use, land tracts. As well as instructing and writing various appraisal educational programs, he has held both national and chapter positions within the Appraisal Institute. In 1991, he received the George L. Schmutz Memorial Award in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of appraisal education. Sandy is also a nationally recognized speaker on conservation easements.

Susan Motycka Rex has held management and editorial positions in trade publishing and finance-related professional associations, including the Appraisal Institute. In addition, she has developed seminars and instructed for the Institute as a communication specialist. Susan taught communication at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she received her BFA and MA degrees.

Cameron R. Rex has been with RMI Midwest since 2001, where he has been integral in developing procedure and use of geographic information systems (GIS) for the valuation of corridors (transportation and utility). In addition, he has become proficient in the research and valuation techniques involved in the appraisal of corridors. Cameron graduated in 2004 with a degree in geography from Northeastern Illinois University, where he also served as a GIS specialist for the Univesity’s Grounds department and technical assistant for the Geography department. That same year, he received awards from the Illinois GIS Association (Outstanding Achievements in the GIS Field of Study) and the Illinois Geographic Society (Outstanding Senior in Geography). Cameron has completed the Appraisal Institute’s courses for General Appraiser licensure and is currently applying for his Illinois general appraiser license. In 2009, he attended two courses offered by the University of Wisconsin – Madison, College of Engineering, Introduction to Railway Engineering and Design and Construction of Rail Freight Terminals, Yards and Intermodal Facilities, to further expand the expertise offered by RMI Midwest.
