Who we are.

Charles W. (Sandy) Rex III, MAI, established RMI Midwest in 1991 after serving as president of Rex-McGill, Inc., the oldest real estate valuation company in Orlando. Since coming to the Chicagoland area, Sandy's work has focused on transportation, utility/communication, and pipeline corridors in both urban and rural areas, while still including the valuation of large, multi-use land tracts. He has also specialized in the valuation of conservation easements and co-authored the curriculum material for the Appraisal Institute's Valuation of Conservation Easement professional development program. In recognition of this instruction and authorship of various appraisal educational programs over the years, he received the Appraisal Institute's 1991 George L. Schmutz Memorial Award in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of appraisal education.

Cameron R. Rex, MAI, GISP has been with RMI Midwest since 2001, where he has been integral in developing the analytical and illustrative uses of geographic information systems (GIS) for the valuation of corridors. In addition to his work as an appraiser, Cameron has become proficient in the appraisal of corridors, augmented by railroad design and construction courses at the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering. Cameron graduated in 2004 with a degree in geography from Northeastern Illinois University. Cameron is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Illinois and also has his Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification. He received his MAI designation in December 2014.

How we work.

1 We work closely with the client to define the appropriate scope of the assignment. We are dedicated to providing the best appraisal product to fit our client's needs, with the utmost competency, integrity, and without bias. No matter how big or small the project is, we have years of experience in performing the appraisal on time and on budget.


2 With a strategic relationship with a national data provider, we are able to quickly gather the necessary data to perform the appraisal, no matter where it is located throughout the country. Through on-the-ground inspections, analysis of local data and consultation with local experts, we gain the geographic competency to understand the market and perform the appraisal. Through the use of GIS, we are unmatched in our capabilities to perform large, multi-county/state assignments.


3 We work with our clients to determine the end-products that are required. We pride ourselves in providing clear and concise appraisal reports, whether it is a summary or full narrative report. With our mapping capabilities, we are able to provide detailed maps, with contained within the appraisal report or in a separate mapbook, depending on the needs of the client. Our clients are provided an appraisal report that leaves no question as to scope, presentation of data, analysis and our opinion of value.
